INDUSTRY UNITES FOR SAFER FUTURE AT AUROR X AACS CRIME AND SAFETY ROUNDTABLE

On 4 June, leaders from across the fuel retail and convenience sector gathered in Melbourne for the Auror x AACS Roundtable on Crime and Safety.

Hosted by Theo Foukkare, CEO of the Australian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) and Auror, the exclusive session brought together key executives for a critical discussion on the growing challenges of crime, theft, and aggressive behaviour in the industry.

With safety concerns escalating across the country, particularly for frontline teams, the roundtable served as a timely platform for collaboration and action.

The event featured an insightful fireside chat with Emily Milner, Country Security Manager – ANZ, bp, who shared firsthand insights on the challenges and the proactive steps bp is taking to protect its people and sites.

Tanya Johnson, Chief Product Officer at Auror, showcased the latest innovations from the Auror platform, demonstrating how it supports retailers in real-time crime reporting, incident tracking, and intelligence sharing.

She highlighted how the platform enables stores to identify repeat offenders, collaborate across networks, and turn data into actionable insights—making it a powerful tool in reducing loss and improving safety outcomes across the industry.

Retailers in attendance – including leaders from major national chains – contributed openly to the conversation, recognising that while competition drives their businesses, safety is a shared responsibility.
