Under the Scheme, ACT residents will be able to return eligible, empty beverage containers to designated collection points and receive a 10 cent refund for each container. The ACT will look to establish more over-the-counter collection points, located in high-residential catchment areas and will encourage more small business involvement. Source: www.drinksbulletin.com. As a reminder, we expect the Container Deposit Scheme to affect ~65% of the population once implemented in NSW (1 Dec-17), ACT (1H18), QLD (2H18) and WA (CY19).
