A man, suffering from a gunshot wound, was caught on CCTV stumbling into a 7-Eleven to buy a slushie before collapsing outside.
The bizarre behaviour of a wounded Brisbane man, who bought a 7-Eleven slushie before asking for help, has been caught on camera.
CCTV surrounding the service station on Logan River Road, in Holmview, Logan, south-west of Brisbane, showed the man stumbling up to the 7-Eleven just after 5.30am today.
The footage shows the 29-year-old man, still wearing his white helmet, slowly walking up to the doors of the 7-Eleven and using his bike to prop him up.
The man removes his helmet before limping inside and briefly steadying himself on the ice cream fridge.
He then buys a packet of cigarettes, ripping off the plastic with his teeth and putting one in his mouth.
The 29-year-old limps to the slushie machine, occasionally putting his hand on his hip to check if he’s bleeding.
He pours himself a frozen drink before making the long walk back outside.
Staff at the service station told 7 News the man didn’t ask for help and instead suffered in silence.
Walking back outside, witnesses noticed the man was struggling and saw the wound on his hip, calling emergency services after he collapsed.
Paramedics, including critical care responders, rushed to the scene and treated him for a single wound to his hip.
He was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious but stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
Queensland Police confirmed they also attended and are investigating where and when the man was shot.
Police said the man had felt pain in his back and walked to the 7-Eleven with the bike before seeking medical help.
