LOCAL LEADING LIGHTS ENJOY INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

It appears the future of Australia’s convenience industry is in good hands after Stephanie Foster of BP and Cameron Bird of Coca Cola Amatil both won their respective categories at the international convenience industry awards, as part of the NACS Show hosted by the National Association of Convenience Stores (NACS) in Atlanta, US.

As the winners of the Peter Jowett Scholarship Award, administered by the Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS), Stephanie and Cameron earned the right to travel to the US to compete for the international awards.

“Congratulations to both Stephanie and Cameron on their respective wins and for shining the spotlight on the efforts our convenience industry is taking in Australia to innovate for the future,” AACS CEO Jeff Rogut said.

Stephanie and Cameron presented to an audience of leading convenience industry professionals from around the world and triumphed over a range of innovative presentations from all finalists, including experts from NZ and Canada.

Mr Rogut said the Peter Jowett Scholarship Award has a strong record of unearthing talented industry professionals.

“Innovation is one of the pillars for the future of the convenience channel and the scholarship award is designed to encourage and reward innovative thinking. It has proven highly effective as a development program and over the years has helped many practitioners further their careers in this dynamic industry,” Mr Rogut said.

The AACS will soon be calling for registrations for the 2014 award. For further information on the Peter Jowett Scholarship Award 2012 or for details on becoming an AACS member, visit www.aacs.org.au.
