FASHION can be a heavy issue, and one retailer has taken this to its logical extreme.
As of today designer label clothing will be priced according to its weight, The Courier Mail reported.
Unlike traditional stores where customers buy full priced or partially discounted clothes, Fashion Brands by Kg is introducing a system where customers buy and pay for each designer label by the gram.
Managing director Joseph Golubinsky said popular brands including Ralph Lauren would be sold from eight cents per gram, Tommy Hilfiger from six cents, DKNY from 12 cents and Guess and Calvin Klein from 10 cents per gram.
Mr Golubinsky said Fashion Brands by Kg was the type of thing consumers want.
“At the end of the day buying clothes by weight is a very different retail experience,” Mr Golubinsky said.
“It’s a low price cheaper than outlet stores.”
At the moment the store is only available in Brisbane, but that’s not to say there won’t be more stores coming to Australia.
On its website it says that the store will remain open until all fashion garments are completely sold out.
“Sometimes it only takes a few days!,” it reads.
“At most, the temporary store front remains open for a week or two and then move to another location to do it all over again
