Caltex aspires to lead the convenience marketspace through an inventive, collaborative, and customer-centric approach to category management. We are looking for a category manager who can strengthen and evolve a category portfolio in excess of $250m in convenience retail sales (not including fuel).
The opportunity
We are seeking a highly capable Category Manager who can put themselves in the shoes of our customers to turn customer needs into product vision, category plans, pricing files and promotional planning, through their creativity and market insight.
Essential to this position, is to engage with and create win-win relationships with our suppliers, store managers, business managers, and importantly, our Caltex franchisees.
Experience required
We are looking for someone with at least 5 years’ proven experience in category management or promotional and marketing activity in a supermarket or related industry.
In addition, you will have a working knowledge and experience in the following:
· supplier negotiations
· developing collaborative working relationships with suppliers
· effectively bridge day-to-day category management with consumer sales strategy
· developing marketing, promotions, pricing and merchandising tactics and strategy
· contributing to the supplier sourcing strategy
· using consumer data to comprehend retail financial indicators
· category tracking and reporting
