The West Australian government will review laws surrounding e-cigarettes despite a nationwide ban on sales and a lack of scientific agreement on their safety.
Health Minister Roger Cook has flagged changes to laws governing e-cigarettes alongside a review of the state’s tobacco legislation, due to begin later this year.
The state government is, “not going to move quickly to introduce e-cigarettes into our community until we’re absolutely sure about the safety issues associated with them,” Mr Cook told reporters on Tuesday.
