Food delivery business Deliveroo has launched a delivery-only kitchen concept, in a bid to help restaurants reach new customers and develop innovative food concepts. Dubbed ‘Deliveroo Editions’ and located in the heart of the Chapel Street district in Melbourne, the new site is equipped with bespoke kitchen spaces collecting seven well known Australian restaurants into a single house of brands and comes about after extensive market analysis using data unique to Deliveroo. Based on its data, Deliveroo said it can identify cuisines missing in an area, predict customer demand, and handpick the restaurants that will be successful with Deliveroo Editions. In future, the concept will also include an ‘incubator space’ for up and coming new chefs to launch a presence in the Australian food scene. Deliveroo said the launch in Australia comes after the successful launch of the platform across the UK, Europe and Asia, which it said has seen restaurants reporting over 550 per cent increase in revenues and an approximate 10 per cent increase in delivery efficiency.
