On 12 November 2015 new unfair contract terms protections for small businesses received royal assent. This new law has a 12-month transition period meaning it will take effect on 12 November 2016. The ACCC is conducting an education campaign during the 12-month transition period to help businesses understand their rights and responsibilities and prepare for the new law.
A key part of this education campaign is a free webinar we are delivering with ASIC next month. Titled ‘The new business-to-business unfair contract terms law: what you need to know and do now’, it’s being held at 7pm AEDT on Wednesday 16 March 2016.
Dr Michael Schaper and a representative from ASIC will provide a general overview of the new contract terms protections and answer audience questions. More information is available on the webinar registration page: www.webcasts.com.au/accc160316/
