Pie Face has secured a lucrative deal with SA-based convenience store chain, On The Run.
Bakery franchise Pie Face has landed a lucrative two-year deal with the Peregrine Corporation’s South Australian based On The Run chain of convenience stores.
Nine products, including the brand’s meat pies and sausage rolls, as well as those developed specifically for On The Run customers, will be available at approximately 80 stores across the state.
It is expected the deal will see initial unit volumes exceed one million units per year, and Pie Face had recently commissioned a new site to handle additional business of this nature.
The HCAPP accredited central kitchen facility (CKF) is situated in the Sydney suburb of Rosehill and it is 3,000sqm in size.
According to Pie Face’s commercial manager, Andrew Lyme the brand is incredibly pleased to have secured the deal, particularly as it will familiarise South Australian’s with the Pie Face offering.
“The company has been focussed on the supply chain side of business in an effort to increase production efficiencies and allow the business to become a lower cost, premium bakery supplier to our national retail network,” he said.
“These types of value add licensing and supply deals should enable the company to reach these goals sooner. We are hopeful of announcing similar types of win/win arrangements during 2014.”
The deal does not impinge on Pie Face’s ability to expand its core retail stores in Adelaide, nor will it affect the operation of its existing outlets.
