McDonald’s is ditching Heinz tomato ketchup from all its stores worldwide ending a 40-year relationship.
The move comes after former Burger King chief executive Bernardo Hees was appointed as boss of Heinz.
McDonald’s said: “As a result of recent management changes at Heinz, we have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time..
“We have spoken to Heinz and plan to work together to ensure a smooth and orderly transition.”
Heinz added: “As a matter of policy, Heinz does not comment on relationships with customers.”
McDonald’s has more than 34,000 restaurants around the globe.
