AACS: POLICE THREAT OF NO ACTION ENCOURAGES PETROL THEFT

The Australasian Association of Convenience Stores (AACS) has responded angrily to a report former federal police boss Mick Keelty recommending that Queensland Police stop investigating petrol thefts, giving thieves the green light to steal from small business owners.

AACS CEO Jeff Rogut said it’s sad and regrettable for someone so respected at a federal police level to publicly encourage crime, particularly when community safety is supposed to be the focus of the report.
