A TRIP to the supermarket for the bread and milk just got a total makeover.

Woolworths is now offering free makeovers, skin consultations and mini-manicures in its city store, with plans to expand it nationally.

Trained beauty professionals will be on hand to apply cosmetics such as L’Oreal and Max Factor and offer make-up tips.

Woolies grocery general manager Alex Dower said: “We’re keen to get different experiences every week, so one week we may specialise in a nail polish salon, the next week you could get eyes or lips and rotate through different areas of cosmetics after that.”

Shopper Natasha Hines said the service would be good for time-poor people racing to grab dinner.

“If you can combine that with a quick touch-up it should work great,” she said. “If I’ve got an event or dinner I’m going out to, I’ll definitely stop by for a touch-up.”
