The team from 7-Eleven joined fellow franchisors to recognise some of the best talent in the industry at the 2020 Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) Regional Awards. The finalists were celebrated at online events in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia in the last two weeks.
7-Eleven had a strong presence among the finalists with nine members of the franchisee and operations support team representing the company in a number of categories. Three of the finalists were winners in their categories.
According to 7-Eleven CEO and Managing Director, Angus McKay, this success is recognition of the extraordinary efforts the finalists make in what they do every day.
“I am incredibly proud to lead a business that has some of the best franchisees in Australia as well as some of the best people on the ground supporting them to succeed. The franchising industry is a significant part of Australia’s economy, and recognising outstanding achievement has never been more important,” Mr McKay said.
“2020 has been incredibly challenging for franchisees and franchisors. Our franchise model means we will stick with our partners through both the highs and the lows of these circumstances.
Our franchisees, store managers and operations teams have worked tirelessly alongside each other to stay safe while providing their communities with essentials in local neighbourhoods. At the same time they’ve been taking every opportunity to rebound, build their businesses back up, and to help the economy get back on its feet.
I am incredibly proud of what they have achieved, so to be able to celebrate some of our most outstanding people as finalists and winners in the FCA awards is a real privilege.”
Mr McKay said that the company’s winners, finalists and nominees had done the business proud.
“This recognition from the wider 7-Eleven team, and from our industry more broadly, is testament to our nominees ongoing efforts to live our values and deliver the extraordinary in all they do every day. Congratulations and well done to all of our nominees,” Mr McKay concluded.
