Two more milk varieties sold at NSW IGA and independent grocery stores have become the latest recalled over concerns they may be contaminated with E. coli.

Two more milk varieties sold at NSW IGA and independent grocery stores have become the latest recalled over concerns they may be contaminated with E. coli.

Manufacturer Lion Dairy and Drinks Australia (LD&D) announced a statewide recall of two-litre bottles of Dairy Choice full cream milk and Community Co The Good Drop full cream milk with the use-by February 25, 2020.

The affected Dairy Choice and Community Co. milk had been sold at IGA and other independent grocery stores in NSW.

Customers who bought the milk have been warned not to drink it and return it or contact LD&D for a full refund.

The recall is linked to a contamination issue at LD&D’s Penrith manufacturing site, the company said in a statement.

Other Dairy Choice and Community Co milk varieties have not been affected, it said.

The same factory is also the source of the E. coli contamination concerns that triggered Thursday’s recall of Dairy Farmers one-litre full cream milk with a use-by date of February 25 and three-litre full cream milk with a use-by date of February 24 sold at Coles, Woolworths and IGA in NSW.

“We encourage anyone who has consumed the products being recalled and who feels unwell to seek medical advice as required,” LD&D said in a statement.

The manufacturer said it sincerely regretted any inconvenience caused and was investigating the matter to understand the cause of the problem and put in place steps to prevent it happening again.

On Friday, further milk recalls for the Aldi-sold three-litre Farmdale Full Cream Milk with a use-by of February 25, 2020, and 7-Eleven’s two-litre full cream milk with a use-by of February 24, 2020.

For those who purchased any of the recalled milk from Aldi have also been advised to return it or contact Aldi’s food recall hotline on 1800 709 993.

Early symptoms of E. coli infection include stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea which often contains traces of blood.

People who start feeling unwell after consuming these varieties of milk should visit a doctor immediately.
