Albury trial
On 21 May 2019, Service NSW extended the Digital Driver Licence trial to Albury with the support of the Murray River Police District, the NSW and Victorian Cross Border Commissioners and Local Members of Parliament. The media announcement of the trial, held at the SS&A Club in Albury gained local television, radio and print coverage.
Promoting awareness to businesses and licence holders in Albury
Service NSW staff visited businesses in the Albury CBD to demonstrate how to check and verify the Digital Driver Licence. 72% of businesses visited confirmed that they would accept the digital licence as proof of age or identification.
The Service NSW team also promoted the Digital Driver Licence at a pop up stand in the local shopping centre. Licence holders visiting the stand were keen to opt in and learn more about where they could use it.
Nationwide awareness campaign
A nationwide awareness campaign has commenced in partnership with interstate law enforcement, agency and industry groups to promote the Digital Driver Licence as a valid NSW Driver Licence.
