The ‘AACS 2011 State of the Industry Report’ was launched in Sydney and Melbourne last week. Over 80 people attended each venue and received a presentation on key highlights of the report. Jeff Rogut introduced the sessions and said that all participants should have ‘confidence in convenience’ because:
We see operators expanding their networks and also investing in their stores.
We see sales growth, although modest, despite some of the doomsayers.
We see some increased collaboration between retailers and suppliers and this is still an area of opportunity.
Participating retauilers were thanked for the time taken to provide their data which is crucial to having a credible report, and the following providers were also thanked for their inputs as well – Nielsen, Aztec, him! Australia and the ACRS at Monash University. Paul Bull from Real World Marketing compiled the report this year and did a great job in presenting the highlights.
The report is available in the MEMBERS section of the AACS website and non members may purchase a copy for $3200 incl GST.
