BEFORE you yell: “ICE CREAM BEER” in your best Homer voice – there’s good news and bad news.
The bad news is no, they haven’t invented a delicious Mr Whippy topping for your favourite brew.
The good news is inventors at Error! Hyperlink reference not valid. have created a frozen foam that will keep your beer ice cold for up to 30 minutes, MSNBC.com reports.
The foam acts as an insulating lid and can keep beer frozen to -5C, the inventors claim.
But before beer aficionados complain about the foam diluting their drink, the froth is also made of beer.
Ichiban Shibori Frozen Draft is currently available in Tokyo and will be served countrywide next month.
There has been no word on when the foam will be available in Australian pubs… or ice cream vans.
