McDonald’s has confirmed it is launching a home delivery service in Melbourne

Never mind the drive-through, McDonald’s is coming to your driveway.

The fast food giant is joining forces with UberEATS to launch a hotly anticipated home delivery service in Melbourne.

Uber has confirmed the partnership to Daily Mail Australia and said the world’s largest fast food chain will soon be delivered across the city.

‘As part of the partnership between McDonald’s and Uber, we are rolling out seven restaurants on UberEATS in Melbourne,’ a spokesman said.

‘Stay tuned as we continue to make McDonald’s available at the push of a button throughout Melbourne.’

Since 2013, the burger giant has been trialling McDelivery in selected suburbs in Sydney using the Menulog platform.

The new service means customers will simply need to click on the app from their mobile phone to order McDonald’s, which can then be delivered to any location.

It is thought to coincide with the new McDonalds app, which allows customers to order food to their table and pay via the app in restaurants.

The company is launching the same service in the US, with more than 2,000 stores now offering delivery through UberEats.
