Queanbeyan petrol station stabbing: accused teens believed radicalised

Counter terrorism police have taken over an investigation into the stabbing death of a petrol station worker in Queanbeyan.

The Australian understands police have been told the teenagers, aged 15 and 16, believed to be behind the attack had been radicalised.

In a dramatic development this morning, counter terrorism police taken over the investigation into the death and three other alleged assaults in Queanbeyan overnight.

The 29-year-old service station worker, a Pakistani student, was found dead by colleagues at the Caltex service station on Bungendore road.

At least three others were injured during a night of violence, with one man suffering a stab wound to his abdomen in a street near the service station.

Another man was attacked with an iron bar and a fourth hit with a bottle.

The accused teenage boys were arrested on Friday morning in the ACT.
