7-ELEVEN NORWAY IS LAUNCHING A NEW CONCEPT

On Saturday 24 June, 7-Eleven will open a new concept in Storgata, Oslo. The store has been under renovation for the past three weeks and will now become a pilot for the further development of 7-Eleven Norway’s stores. This includes a new layout in store, attractive partners, merch and a new product range.

  • We are constantly working to pave the way for the convenience industry of the future, and in the new concept have emphasized creating better customer experiences adapted to city life in Oslo. This includes an increased focus on good dining experiences, more seating, exciting collaboration partners and a more sustainable offer that we are absolutely sure customers will love, says AnnaMaria Carnemark, CEO of Reitan Convenience Norway (RCN).

7-Eleven Norway enters into a partnership with donut player Talormade
Talormade was developed by the Australian entrepreneur Talor Browne and currently has four cafes in the Oslo area. They produce fresh donuts from scratch that are delivered to the chain’s cafes every morning from their bakery in Sagene.

Ingebjørg Hjortdahl, marketing director at RCN, is proud to be able to announce that 7-Eleven Storgata will be a regular stop on Talormade’s daily morning delivery.

  • Local hard-working brands deserve to be lifted and we see this as a fantastic opportunity for both parties, says Hjortdahl.
The collaboration means that 7-Eleven and Talormade’s loyal customers will be able to get hold of the popular products around the clock in Oslo.

Focus on sustainability
Sustainability has also been an important focus area in the development of 7-Eleven’s new concept. Using simple measures, the store will save food that would normally have ended up as waste, by giving it new life.
The store also collaborates with the coffee project Lykke Kaffegårdar, which owns coffee farms together with local farmers in Peru, Brazil, El Salvador and Uganda. The collaboration is an extension of the existing collaboration with PBX and 7-Eleven Sweden.
An important part of Lykke’s business model is that the coffee is sent directly from the farms without intermediaries and is roasted locally where it is consumed.

  • The planet does not need more concrete factories, when there is already excess capacity in the majority of the world’s coffee roasters. We are making use of the excess capacity to spread our sustainable project, and are already in dialogue with local distilleries in Norway who have shown an interest in changing the coffee industry for the better, says Johan Damgaard, CEO of Lykke Kaffegårdar.

The store in Storgata will also offer nutritious salads from Palett, thus upgrading its range of healthy “on the go” products. Palett was developed by influencer and nutritionist Emilie Nereng, and has a vision to inspire people to make better food choices – both for the body and the planet.

– We know that finding healthy and nutritious food on the go is a real problem for many, and therefore we are incredibly happy that 7-Eleven Storgata has chosen to include Palett in its range, says Vigdis Bonvik, marketing manager at Palett.

7-Eleven Storgata opens its doors to existing and new customers on Saturday 24 June at 09.00.
